No good at goodbyes? Dubai announces 90-day visit visa for tourists!

One of the hardest parts about being an expat, is definitely being away from loved ones - and goodbyes never seem to get any easier!

Well, don't worry as Dubai has announced a 90-day visit visa for the family and friends of UAE residents!

That’s right! If you’re a resident of Dubai, you can now sponsor your family or friends to extend their visit for up to three months.

You’ll have to pay a AED1,000 deposit, but this is fully refundable upon the exit of your loved ones!

This news follows the many updates that the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) have announced over the past few weeks.

Including:

  1. Group family visas for tourism, treatment, and patient companionship are now available for both single and multiple entries, and are valid for 60 or 180 days.

  2. People of determination are exempted from the fingerprinting requirement when applying for passport issuance, renewal, or replacement.

  3. One-time holders of 90-day visas can now benefit from a 30-day extension through the visa extension service. However, the renewal of residency visas that are valid for more than six months is prohibited.

  4. Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) citizens without an Emirates ID can now access cancellation and amendment services through the updated smart services system.

It is important to remember that overstaying tourists can face charges, fines, and could be at risk of being blacklisted by the UAE government.
