Keeping Active in Quarantine

With Dubai gyms being closed since the 15th of March, we’ve been trying to keep ourselves active at home!

Since the 24-hour lockdown has been lifted slightly, we can have exercise outdoors with a safe distance from others which means we can go for walks around our community and even cycle, but a lot of us are missing our group exercise classes, personal trainers and the gym equipment we took for granted!

Many UAE gyms and a few celebrities and fitness gurus are doing online workouts for free! Here’s a list of our favourites:

Fitness First Middle East

Fitness First instructors are taking to Instagram and sharing a variety of work out classes from Zumba, Tuff, full body workouts and more. You can find these on their Instagram page in the highlights reel and on their InstaTV @fitnessfirstme

Crank

Crank is a predominantly cycling studio, however, have taken to Instagram, @crank.dubai, to share some bodyweight workouts. Check out their feed posts for a break down of the exercises, don your trainers and get to work!

Ferdinand Fitness

The internet is a wonderful thing and allows us to tune into channels from all over the world. Kate and Rio Ferdinand are conducting live workouts in the UK and posting them on their YouTube channel ‘Ferdinand Fitness’. They use all household items instead of weights, so you don’t need to worry about not having the right equipment.

PE with Joe

PE with Joe is another firm favourite for keeping fit at home with kids! Joe, also known as The Body Coach goes live on his YouTube channel ‘The Body Coach TV’ Monday - Friday at 12pm Dubai time with Fancy Dress Friday to induce even more fun!

Kayla Itsines

Kayla Itsines has a fitness brand called SWEAT and she has lots of workouts online on her YouTube channel ‘Kayla Itsines’. She has workers for beginners, intermediate and advanced and most workouts are for 30mins. Clear a space, lay out your yoga mat (or a large towel) and get to work!
