Two Coventry property agents are returning to open a business in their home city after proving an international success. Lewis and Carl Allsopp, who was born and raised in Coventry, established an estate agency in Dubai in 2008, which is now one of the most successful in the United Arab Emirates.
Allsopp & Allsopp employs around 100 staff across two offices in Dubai and was awarded last year the Best Real Estate Agency in Dubai and the whole of Arabia region at the International Property Awards. And now the two brothers are returning to repeat their recipe for property success on familiar territory.
Allsopp & Allsopp’s new offices will be based in New Union Street and will market properties from across Coventry and Warwickshire.
Carl (29) said: “Lewis and I trained here in Coventry before we both took jobs in Dubai. We both saw how agents operated in Dubai and felt we could raise the bar and bring some of what we had learned in the UK to the Dubai market.
“Customer care and service are paramount in this industry and we have set standards in those areas and we intend to repeat that here.
“It has gone very well and we are still growing. We have residential sales, lettings, property management, conveyancing and mortgage services business in Dubai and have just opened our second office, but the Coventry operation will be concentrating on residential sales primarily.
“It is a really exciting development for us. Not only does Coventry mean a lot to us as we were born, bred and trained here, but we also feel there is considerable scope for us to bring the levels of service and experience to the market and make a success of it.
“Five years ago it was a case of taking some of the disciplines of the UK market to Dubai, and now we are planning to do the reverse when it comes to customer care and technology.”
Those innovations will include allowing sellers to track their property through an online software system which will give feedback on enquiries and viewings, and detailed information to buyers on local schools including pupil numbers and Ofsted reports.
Carl added: “We will run a totally open book system when it comes to property. Communications and transparency are key when people are buying and selling properties, and we know from our experience that we deliver that.”
Allsopp & Allsopp will open its Coventry office October 28th, and to celebrate the opening, the first 50 properties listed will be sold free of charge.
