Sheikh Hamdan shares plans for Hatta’s transformation: Everything you need to know!

We all know and have come to love our lakeside neighbour Hatta, from kayak rides, hikes, to resort style living - it’s the perfect space for long weekend escapes amongst residents. And now the stunning space is set to undergo a major transformation.

In a significant move to elevate the living standards and boost tourism across Hatta, Sheikh Hamdan the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, has shared a comprehensive development plan for Hatta.

And this plan includes the Hatta Beach project, new neighbourhoods, and a state-of-the-art private school, all to be built!

All about Hatta’s development plans

Sheikh Hamdan shared that these development plans all reflect the vision of Sheikh Mohammed, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai’s commitment to providing the highest standards of living for citizens and their families. .

What’s new?

During his visit to Hatta, Sheikh Hamdan approved several key projects, including:

1. Hatta beach project

The Hatta Beach project is set to have an artificial lake with a beach, spanning over 53,000 square metres. The beach itself will cover 10,000 square metres, featuring an array of amenities and services for visitors.

2. New neighbourhoods council

A new neighbourhood council for the residents of Hatta was announced, this will be serving as a collective place to enhance social interaction between residents. The council will include a multi-purpose main hall, service facilities, administrative offices, and more.

3. Private school

Approval was granted for the construction of a private school, set to be equipped with cutting-edge facilities and amenities, capable of enrolling 700 to 1,000 students.

Sheikh Hamdan through social media, praised the efforts of the Supreme Committee overseeing Hatta's development and various entities involved in these plans, he further emphasised the distinctive potentials of Hatta. The vision is to leverage these potentials to achieve ambitious developmental goals outlined in the Dubai Urban Plan 2040.

Overview of Hatta's development

Hatta's Master Development Plan, launched by Sheikh Mohammed, aims to enhance living standards and transform Hatta into a sought-after destination not just for tourism, but also for business, and investment. Projects underway include hotels, resorts, the construction of 235 houses, and the development of Hatta downtown!

What else, you might ask?

- Hatta Souq: Spanning over 146,000 square metres, the souq would include 70 commercial units and various amenities.

- Attractions at Hatta Heritage Village: New attractions have been added to enhance the cultural experience at the Hatta Heritage Village. Some of these include stores that feature classic monuments, and souvenirs.

- Leem lake area: This lake development project is aimed at preserving the natural beauty of the area, and enhancing the current scape.
