Another day, another launch!
Dubai is popular for launching a new development almost every 17 hours, and with each day comes something completely new, unexpected and the next world-record breaker!
Set to stretch across 72 kilometres of coastline, this stunning project aims to plant over 100 million mangrove trees, marking it as the largest coastal regeneration project of its kind globally.
Spearheaded by URB, the visionary minds behind projects like Dubai Reefs and The Loop, Dubai Mangroves will serve as natural habitats, enhancing seagrass beds and coral reefs while providing valuable ecological benefits.
Plans have already commenced at six locations across the city, including popular beaches such as Jebel Ali Beach, Dubai Marina Beach, and Jumeirah Public Beach. With these areas in mind, the project targets completion by 2040, promising a new coastline for residents and visitors alike, bringing major ecological benefits.
Dubai Mangroves goes beyond the traditional environmental restoration, as it incorporates a range of recreational and educational amenities.
You can expect tourist attractions like beach parks and social spaces that will offer residents and tourists alike a stunning new space to unwind and connect with nature. Additionally, the project includes cycling paths, running tracks, and beach sport facilities, catering to those who enjoy a little outdoor workout.
One of the main attractions central to the project is the Mangrove Visitor Hub, which is a focal point for discussions on environmental conservation. Complementing this hub is the Botanical Museum, where interactive exhibits will educate visitors on topics such as climate change and biodiversity, fostering a deeper understanding of environmental issues.
In addition to all these interesting benefits, Dubai Mangroves is set to make a significant impact on carbon reduction efforts. Now, that’s impressive!
