Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai recently greenlit the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033, which is set to mark a significant leap towards elevating the well-being and experiences of residents and investors in Dubai.

This comprehensive plan includes more than 200 projects and initiatives.

One of the key objectives of the strategy is a 300% increase in the length of beach cycling tracks across Dubai to encourage outdoor activities amongst residents. Plus, the plan also includes a 60% extension of night swimming beaches and the allocation of new beach areas specifically for women, fostering inclusivity and accessibility for women and children across the city.

Green galore!

Over the course of the next three years, this plan is set to add more than 30 new parks, to enhance public spaces and green areas within the city, while encouraging more outdoor activities.

Events and entertainment are another focal point of the strategy, with plans to host over 1,000 annual events, spanning across sports, community engagement, culture, art, concerts and entertainment. These events will be organised in new areas, as there is a 134% increase set to be added in allocated spaces for entertainment, tourism, and hotels.

Sheikh Hamdan shared his thoughts on this plan, “Caring for people remains the cornerstone of Dubai’s sustainable development strategies. The well-being of individuals is the ultimate objective of our development plans and the primary criterion for the success of government programs.”

In line with these plans, the strategy also includes the development of over 115 km of pedestrian and cycling tracks to promote an active lifestyle and sustainable modes of transportation. Additionally, new aims have been set out to enhance greenery across the city by planting more than 3,000 trees and plants! How incredible is that?
