Meet the man behind the mandem - Marc Walters
Before diving deep into the discussion, Kameron introduces Marc with a humorous joke: if you don't know who Marc Walters is, you probably shouldn't be watching this podcast!
Marc Walters is the Managing Director at Allsopp & Allsopp. Originally from Liverpool, he shares how he started his journey with Allsopp and Allsopp 16 years ago when the company was just in its first month of activity.
From his early struggles to his rise as Managing Director, Marc begins to share his tenure in real estate and his secret to success.
Early days: Marc’s introduction to Dubai
Kameron speaks to Marc about his humble beginnings in Dubai to which Marc talks about his first trip to Dubai back in the mid-2000s.
Marc shared how he initially had no job prospects and only a faint idea of what he wanted to achieve. A chance introduction to a developer led him to sell properties and get a taste of the real estate market. His first deal in Dubai was an eye-opener, and he quickly realised the untapped potential the city had to offer.
From facing struggles to crossing hurdles
Kameron asked Marc about his struggles early on, and what was his key to staying consistent. Marc shares how his journey wasn't without its challenges. From working in a corner shop, making furniture in a warehouse, to driving a taxi to make ends meet, Marc shares how he endured many hardships. He recalls driving a taxi while hiding his job from his then-girlfriend (now wife), Nicola, due to embarrassment. Despite these difficult times, Marc's determination never wavered.
When Nicola secured a job with Emirates Airlines, Marc saw it as the perfect excuse to move to Dubai. Although he had no job lined up, he was introduced to Lewis, who was just starting Allsopp and Allsopp. Marc joined the company during its formative weeks and committed to making a name for himself despite the market crash and horror stories of the market.

As Marc continues to share his tenure into his time with Allsopp & Allsopp, Kameron chats with Marc about the growth trajectory of the company and what he believes has made us the best in the business.
Marc shares how the company has created a consistent company culture and built an essence of entrepreneurship within agents which motivates them towards their success as well. He believes the secret to success in Allsopp & Allsopp has been the fact that employees don’t just work for but rather work with management to create the company into what it is today.
