DXB Airport tops the charts as the Middle East’s most connected airport!

As we close off the first half of 2024, Dubai’s property market has shown impressive growth across all residential sectors with no signs of slowing down.

DXB Airport tops the charts as the Middle East’s most connected airport!

Just like they say, it’s another day, and that means it’s another record set. When it comes to Dubai International Airport, we’ve covered the basis:

World’s busiest airport? Check!

Highest number of travellers in a year? Check!

Trumping every record in the world? Check!

There’s quite literally nothing on this planet stopping Dubai from soaring to new heights, be it becoming the world’s most popular hub for real estate, rising deals of non-oil trades or now - becoming the world’s busiest airport, ever.

So, what’s new on the agenda this week, you might ask?

In newly released reports, Dubai’s DXB Airport topped Middle East and Africa’s most connected airports list - let us break down everything you need to know…

According to the latest Megahubs, the Most Connected Airports in the World report, Dubai’s position as a global hub for air travel came by linking passengers to 279 destinations between September 2023 and August 2024.

Notably, DXB also ranked seventh in the Top 25 Low-Cost Megahubs worldwide, making it the highest-ranked airport outside of Asia in this category.

A large part of DXB’s success can be attributed to its dominant aircraft - Emirates Airline, which operates 38% of all flights at the airport.

This connectivity, combined with the airport’s efficiency, has made it a premier choice for global travellers. While other airports in the region, like Doha’s Hamad International (DOH) and Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo (JNB), follow closely in the rankings, DXB stands out for its extensive network and ability to accommodate both premium and low-cost carriers.

This strong performance comes in line with Dubai's growing influence as a leading global aviation hub, supported by its strategic location and world-class infrastructure. Just following the news of the airport welcoming 3.43 million passengers through the airport in just one week!

Can we expect a new record at the end of Q3?
