Just when we thought Dubai couldn't top its own records, Dubai secured fifth place globally, according to the Global City Index by Brand Finance.

This ranking places Dubai ahead of cities like Singapore, Los Angeles, and Sydney, in key performance metrics such as tourism, real estate, visionary leadership and a competitive economy.

Setting new standards - regionally and globally

For the second year in a row, Dubai has maintained its position in the MENA region, by surpassing 100 cities worldwide across key performance metrics. With a score of 86 out of 100 on the Global City Index - Dubai’s achievements have shown the city’s commitment to economic growth, quality of life and long-term vision.

Now, Dubai now ranks first globally for reputation, crossing ahead of previously leading cities like London and Sydney.

It has also climbed from 24th to fourth in consideration for work and remote job opportunities, adding to its appeal to building a globally mobile workforce. To add to this, the city’s updated economic policies, low corporate taxes, and new infrastructure have added to its status as the top city for investment potential, with a growing start-up scene and innovation ecosystem led by the Dubai Future Foundation.

Dubai’s journey to becoming a prime investment destination

With Dubai being right in the centre, with a direct link between the East and West, it has made the city a hub for trade and logistics.

With a 2040 population growth target of 7.8 million, the demand for residential and commercial properties is expected to rise even more, solidifying the real estate sector even further. Just this October, we noted that the market had seen an all-time high in property transactions seeing over 20,000 transactions - and 95% of this was fuelled by the residential market.

This growth is complemented by Dubai’s top rankings in private and public education, ease of obtaining visas, and overall quality of life.

Continuing as leaders in MENA

The UAE’s investments have positioned Dubai as an attractive destination not just for residents but also for businesses, tourists, and investors. That positions Dubai as a growing leader in MENA, continuing into the future.
