WHAT EVERYONE IN DUBAI SHOULD KNOW ABOUT PROPERTY TITLE DEEDS

As we close off the first half of 2024, Dubai’s property market has shown impressive growth across all residential sectors with no signs of slowing down.

WHAT EVERYONE IN DUBAI SHOULD KNOW ABOUT PROPERTY TITLE DEEDS

There are no longer original Title Deeds issued in Dubai! Instead, Title Deeds are issued with a QR code and stored on the blockchain!

You can download the latest version of your Title Deed on the Dubai Rest app.

Again, Dubai has used Tech to take another step forward in the property market by digitalizing the all-important Title Deed document.

What is a Title Deed?

When you own a property in Dubai, a Title Deed is the only document that stands as proof of ownership of your property. If you own the property outright, you will have the Title Deed in your possession. If you have a mortgage on the property, the original Title Deed will be in the possession of the bank and the owner of the property will receive a copy of the document. With the Title Deed copy, you can process your DEWA, rent out your property and register a tenant’s Ejari and telecommunications.

So, whether you plan to sell your property soon or not, I recommend everyone to download the latest digital copy of their title deed directly from the Dubai Land Department system by using the Dubai REST App. This way whether you have owned your property for one month or ten years you have the most up-to-date ownership document for your property.

How to download your digital Title Deed

  • Log in as individual on the Dubai Rest App
  • Select Dashboard from the bottom panel this brings up My Property Wallet screen
  • Select the property and will bring up your property details
  • Select purple circle with 3 vertical dots
  • From the list pick electronic title deed
