June marks Men’s Mental Health Month, an important time dedicated to raising awareness about the mental health challenges that men face every day. This month serves as a reminder that mental health matters and that everyone, regardless of gender, deserves support, understanding, and access to resources. 

## Why Men’s Mental Health Matters

While all of us can struggle with mental health issues, the statistics surrounding men’s mental health are particularly alarming and highlight a growing crisis that is not to be be ignored:


- One in five men in the UK dies before the age of 65 due to mental health reasons

- Four in five suicides are by men, with suicide being the leading cause of death for men under the age of 35

- In 2021, there were 6,319 registered suicides in the UK, and 507 were from the construction industry alone

- Drivers of work lift trucks had a suicide rate 85% higher than the national average, while van drivers were 25% higher, and drivers of large goods vehicles were 20% higher

- A staggering 95% of UK farmers under the age of 40 report that poor mental health is one of the most serious hidden issues in agriculture today


## A Global Issue

While these statistics are UK-based, men’s mental health is a global concern. Rates may differ by country, but the stigma surrounding men speaking up is universal. In many cultures, outdated expectations of masculinity stop men from seeking help making the problem even harder to see, but just as serious.

Men’s Mental Health Month is a reminder that this is a worldwide issue, and change starts with open, honest conversations wherever you are.

Five Ways to Prepare Your Dubai Home for Summer 

Dubai, UAE - [Tuesday 3rd June, 2025]  - Dubai Land Department (DLD) reported 54 billion in property sales transactions across Dubai in May, an impressive 11% increase from the previous month, reinforcing the city’s continued real estate momentum. 

The long-term growth and capital appreciation in villa and townhouse prices stand out amongst last month's transactions.

Since May 2022, the average villa and townhouse prices have skyrocketed by a remarkable 92%, climbing from AED 3,475,523 to AED 6,682,023 in just three years. Even within the last year alone, these properties have seen a significant 35% increase in sales price across villa and townhouse communities, as reported by the DLD. This is a clear indicator of sustained demand, limited supply, and growing investor confidence in villa and townhouse communities in Dubai.

Dubai’s secondary property market shows remarkable strength. Last month, total sales value surged by 68% year-on-year, with average resale home prices rising 32%.his trend confirms significant demand from both end-users and investors, as many individuals are quickly purchasing homes upon arriving in Dubai. Furthermore, secondary market transaction volume increased by 28% year-on-year, underscoring a clear move towards homeownership for expats settling in the city.

Confidence in the off-plan sector remains exceptionally high, marked by a 13% increase in average sales price month-on-month and a 20% rise year-on-year. Buyers consistently look to Dubai as a prime destination for capital appreciation and long-term investment. This interest is driven by the city’s continuous growth, attracting new businesses, enticing tourists with its appeal, and welcoming residents establishing new lives.

While DLD reported a month-on-month decrease in rental renewal volume (19%) and value (17%), the market for new rental contracts has notably strengthened. DLD figures show volume increased by 15% and value by 9% month-on-month. This suggests a strategic shift in tenant preference, with individuals increasingly exploring suburban areas for properties amidst ongoing rental price increases in prime locations.

With the rise in average prices across villa and townhouse communities, it’s clear that established, older neighbourhoods are experiencing a strong wave of renewed interest, especially for homes that have been well-upgraded.

Sellers are increasingly recognising the potential in renovating older properties, as these modern homes within their community now command significant prices.

Allsopp & Allsopp Partners with BITA to Expand Strategic Business Networking

Dubai, UAE – [Friday 2nd April 2025] – April marked another standout month for Dubai's real estate market, driven by high demand for off-plan properties.
The Dubai Land Department (DLD) reported AED 46 billion in transaction value, a huge 77% increase compared to April last year and a 23% rise from the previous month, indicating continued market strength.

The off-plan sector is a key driver of this growth, experiencing a significant 47% increase in transaction value and a 29% rise in volume year-on-year, highlighting Dubai's appeal to international investors and those seeking new developments. Allsopp & Allsopp also saw substantial growth, outperforming the market with an exceptional 99% year-on-year increase in sales transaction volume.

In April, off-plan transactions accounted for 59% of the total volume, with the secondary market continuing to deliver strong results. The average property price in the secondary market rose by 23% month-on-month, with total transaction value increasing by 41%. Compared to the same period last year, the secondary market has grown by 111% in value and 68% in volume. At present, 57% of all transaction value stems from the secondary market, while off-plan makes up a significant 43%, maintaining a steady and balanced split.

Villas and townhouses remain in high demand, leading the market in price growth. Average values for these properties rose by 34% month-on-month, with a remarkable 110% increase in transaction volume year on year. This continued demand, coupled with limited supply, emphasises the crucial role of upcoming off-plan villa communities. Apartments have also shown strong performance, with average prices increasing by 32% compared to the same time last year.

“We are witnessing a clear trend towards homeownership in Dubai with more individuals recognising the city as a stable and attractive place to settle and invest long-term, not just in villas but also in apartments.” said Lewis Allsopp. “Where previously buyers may have rented before purchasing, many are now skipping that step and directly purchasing properties, drawn by the high-quality offerings of new developments.”

Interestingly, the DLD also reported a 24% decrease in overall lettings volume in April, a trend echoed by Allsopp & Allsopp with a 9% drop. This shift towards ownership indicates changing buyer behaviour. As off-plan developments continue to evolve with increasingly attractive offerings, landlords may need to adapt and consider upgrades and modernisation to compete effectively in this evolving market.

## Authentic connection is our superpower 

For us, creating a unique coffee blend was about more than just a distinctive Allsopp & Allsopp taste. It was about forging a genuine connection right at the source. The team at RAW personally selected the beans and met the incredible communities and farmers who grow them.

## A journey of flavour: The red bourbon story

We worked with RAW Coffee to select an old-fashioned variant called Red Bourbon. This isn't your everyday coffee bean. It's known for its cup quality and structure which means you can honestly and accurately pick out each layer of its profile. 

## The lightbulb moment: A blend with purpose

We’ve been huge fans of RAW Coffee for years, stocking their blends exclusively in our office baristas. We’ve built a real relationship with their team over the years. So, when we thought about creating something truly special for our clients and team - something uniquely Allsopp & Allsopp, RAW Coffee was the natural first call.

They got to work creating a bespoke blend just for us, but it quickly became more than just creating a signature coffee. Through our chats, we learned about the coffee-growing community in Rwanda and a real need for better water treatment. That's when the lightbulb went off - a chance to partner not just on incredible coffee, but on making a real difference together. 

## The heart of our coffee      

The story of our partnership is deeply rooted in Rwanda - and what stood out to us was their inspiring spirit of rebuilding and the vital role coffee plays in the livelihoods of small farmers. 
The nation also has a unique initiative called "Umuganda," a mandatory community cleanup held on the last Saturday of every month which contributes to Rwanda's amazing reputation as one of the cleanest countries in Africa!

As part of our commitment to this community, we're also incredibly proud to have supported the development of a vital water treatment system. This initiative helps the coffee producers manage the byproducts of coffee processing responsibly, preventing pollution of local waterways and ensuring a healthier environment for everyone.
