Fear not, we’ll break it down for you - A rental good conduct certificate is simply a certificate that verifies the landlord and the tenant’s relationship. Through this, both the landlord and the tenant can cross-check each other's background with their permission to understand how committed the tenant is, and see how the landlord treats other tenants and if they follow tenancy rules. It helps both parties understand each other better.

How can you get an RGC certificate?

The first thing you want to understand is that - this certificate is not permanent but is essential to have because of its multiple benefits. But before we get into that, here’s how you can get your hands on the certificate as a tenant or landlord.

You can apply for a RGC Certificate through the Dubai Land Department official website or Dubai REST App, these are the steps to apply:

1. Visit the DLD website.
2. Select the RDC tab at the top and click on Rental Status Sheet.
3. Click the green button, "Access this service."

On the next page, you'll find three options:

• Inquiry on tenant
• Inquiry on leaser
• Inquiry on request status

4. Choose the category relevant to you and provide the following information:

If you're an individual lessor:

• Name
• Emirates ID
• Mobile number
• Email address

If you're inquiring about a company:

• Licence issues – the emirate
• Licence source – the emirate’s economic department licence number
• Your name
• Emirates ID
• Mobile number
• Email address
• Submit the required details.

And voila, you have successfully filed your application with them.

Also - a bonus is that there are no fees associated in filing your application.
