RTA announces a new Dubai Marina exit, slashing travel times by 60 percent!

Last year, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority raised the bar by announcing over AED 400 million in projects set to ease traffic congestion around the city.

Be it building new roads, introducing a brand-new line on the metro system, digitising the entire water transportation system, or even creating a completely new lane for buses to ease traffic - no stone was left unturned.

So far in 2024, Dubai has managed to take this to the next level as RTA announced an AED 332 million project to revamp Umm Suqeim Street, followed by an announcement of a 1.6km tunnel to ease traffic across Al Khaleej Street down from Infinity Bridge - and now, we’ve got one more!

In Dubai Marina, a new free exit has been built across Al Seba Street which will allow motorists to take the new exit from Al Seba Street towards the intersection of Garn Al Sabkha Street - easing access to and from Al Khail to and from Sheikh Zayed Road.

This is expected to reduce traffic time by 60% as it features two lanes on each side, which can accommodate over 20,000 cars at one point.

Dubai RTA has undertaken various other projects alongside this which are aimed at enhancing the driving experience for motorists.

Recently, new plans were unveiled for dedicated bus lanes on six streets, including Sheikh Sabah Street, 2nd of December, Al Satwa, Al Nahda, Omar bin Al Khattab, and Naif. These lanes are scheduled to be finished between 2025 and 2027.

Additionally, five new flyovers are set to be constructed along Al Khail Road. The AED 700 million project is expected to reduce travel time by 30% upon completion.

Now, isn’t that something!
