The women who lead and inspire: Selina Sanger

Selina Sanger is the Head of Learning & Development at Allsopp & Allsopp, dedicated to equipping the workforce with industry-leading training and development programs. A CIPD-qualified HR professional, Selina has over 10 years of experience in HR, having started her career in Learning & Development, where she developed a passion for empowering people and driving organisational success across HR Business Partnering and other key HR functions. She later relocated to Dubai as an HR Consultant, bringing her expertise in HR across a wide range of industries in the UAE and GCC region.

Since joining Allsopp & Allsopp Selina’s impact has been undeniable, earning a promotion to her current role within just seven months. Her ability to captivate a room, educate individuals, and inspire success makes her a key figure within the company. Through her leadership, employees receive the guidance and tools they need to excel in the competitive real estate market, reinforcing her role as a driving force behind Allsopp & Allsopp’s continued growth. Selina is currently pursuing her Master’s in Human Resource Management and Development at Middlesex University Dubai, Selina is committed to pushing boundaries, evolving, and driving meaningful change in the HR industry.

We asked Selina the following questions:

Who are some of the women that have inspired you in your life?

My mum and my aunty have been the biggest inspirations in my life. Their resilience, strength, and support have shaped who I am today. They’ve shown me the importance of hard work, kindness, and standing up for what you believe in.

What’s one word you think someone would use to describe you?

Resilient. No matter the challenges I’ve faced, I’ve always found a way to adapt, grow, and come back stronger.

What is your proudest achievement in your career so far?

I’m proud of the impact I’ve made wherever I’ve worked, whether that’s driving change, building people-focused initiatives, or helping others grow and succeed. One of the biggest leaps I took was packing my bags and moving to Dubai, leaving behind my career and life with the hope of finding new opportunities and bettering myself. I’ve constantly pushed myself out of my comfort zone, from working across different industries to going back to university for my Master’s. And, of course, stepping into my current role as Head of L&D, where I get to support our amazing colleagues in their growth and success, has been a truly proud moment for me!

Which female lead would play you in a movie about your life?

Fun question, I think I'll go with, Angelina Jolie! She’s bold, fearless, and always evolving. Plus, who wouldn’t want a little action, adventure, and a killer wardrobe in their life story?
