Starting a Career in Dubai Real Estate: Jo’s Journey

Career progression in Dubai real estate does not always follow a straight line, and Jo Parker’s journey at Allsopp & Allsopp is a strong example of how varied and rewarding a long term property career can be.

After 15 years with Allsopp & Allsopp, Jo is now stepping into a new role as Associate Director in our Developer Sales team, marking an exciting move back into the commercial side of Dubai’s property market.

Jo joined Allsopp & Allsopp in 2010 as a Lettings Consultant, starting her career in Dubai real estate at a time when the market, and the company itself, looked very different. She quickly progressed into property sales, where her performance stood out early on. Within just ten months, she was promoted to Senior Sales Consultant, specialising in Emirates Living, one of Dubai’s most established residential communities.

Her early success in property sales laid the foundations for a broader career within the business.

How Jo Helped Shape the Growth of Allsopp & Allsopp

As Allsopp & Allsopp continued to grow, Jo transitioned into HR and Recruitment, supporting what would become one of the most significant periods of expansion for the company. In 2015, the business had 83 employees. Today, that number has grown to more than 600, reflecting not only the strength of the Dubai real estate market, but also the increasing demand for experienced property professionals across sales, lettings, and core functions.

Jo played a key role in that growth, not just through hiring, but through helping to shape the careers of hundreds of individuals across the business. From first interviews to long term progression, she has been a constant for so many people within Allsopp & Allsopp, supporting their development and helping them build successful careers in Dubai real estate.

As the business evolved, HR and Recruitment became separate departments, with Jo stepping into the position of Human Resources Director. In this role, she has overseen people strategy, team development, and internal progression, playing a significant part in building the culture and structure that exists across the company today.

Alongside her day to day responsibilities, Jo also committed to her own professional development, completing her Level 5 CIPD qualification in HR. This achievement reflects a broader theme throughout her career, which is a consistent focus on learning, development, and long term progression.

Moving into a Developer Sales Role in Dubai

Now, with a strong HR structure in place and the department operating to a high standard, Jo has made the decision to return to a client facing role within Dubai real estate, this time within the Allsopp & Allsopp Developer Sales division.

She joins the team as Associate Director, working alongside Director of Developer Sales, Fintan Flannelly, focusing on off-plan property, new developments, and investment opportunities across Dubai. Developer sales continues to be one of the fastest growing areas of the market, driven by increasing demand from both local and international buyers.

Speaking about the move, Jo shared that she was ready for a new challenge and wanted to apply her experience in a different way, particularly within a sector of the market that continues to see strong growth.

Looking ahead, she has already set her sights on becoming a Bayut TruBroker, one of the most recognised achievements for real estate agents in Dubai, as well as building her presence within the developer and off-plan space.

Property Jobs in Dubai and Career Opportunities

Jo’s journey highlights the variety of career paths available within Dubai real estate, from lettings and secondary sales through to HR, recruitment, and now developer sales. It also reflects the level of opportunity available for those looking to build a long term career in the property industry.

After 15 years with the business, Jo’s impact goes far beyond her own career path. She has played a part in shaping the journeys of countless individuals within Allsopp & Allsopp, and her contribution to the company’s growth and culture has been significant.

As she steps into this next chapter, there is a real sense of excitement across the business to see her return to the sales floor and take on a new challenge. We are incredibly grateful for everything she has contributed over the years and look forward to watching her thrive in her new role within Developer Sales.
