UAE TAX: Companies face a corporate tax of up to 9% on profits in 2023

The UAE has officially issued a federal decree on taxing business profits where corporate tax will now be payable at 9% on annual profits above AED385,000. Annual profits of up to AED375,000 will not be taxed.

Legal experts in the UAE are advising businesses to prepare for these changes in advance, by taking advantage of the tax ruling and filing their outstanding paperwork before June 1st 2023.

Economy: Dubai’s GDP grows to $84bn

In the first nine months of 2022, Dubai witnessed a growth in gross domestic product (GDP) of 4.6% accumulating $83.7bn (AED307.5bn) in the real estate, hospitality and retail sectors.

Retail and hospitality collectively saw a growth of 30% whilst the real estate market is expected to continue to climb throughout 2023.
