Eid Al Adha 2023: Top things to do during this six-day Eid break!

Ah, the six-day break that we’ve all been dreaming of, is here at last.

Eid Al Adha is finally here, and for those of you celebrating the festival - we wish you a Eid Mubarak!

If you’re new here, you might be wondering what this festival is all about and how locals celebrate it.

Well, Eid al-Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice is the second and the largest of the two main holidays celebrated in Islam. It honours the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to God's command.

This beautiful celebration is enjoyed by Muslims all around the world, and is celebrated through hosting henna parties, family feasts (daawats), exchanging gifts and sacrificing the meat of goat, cows, sheep or camels amongst friends, families and in charities.

For most of us, this break is a great way to reconnect with family and friends, and get to ticking off that checklist of things to do - that we normally can’t get round to!

Are you ready for a blissful break?
