Real estate: Dubai announces new verification service

As we close off the first half of 2024, Dubai’s property market has shown impressive growth across all residential sectors with no signs of slowing down.

Real estate: Dubai announces new verification service

We get it, the Dubai real estate market (when you’re not working with us) isn’t always the easiest to navigate.

It’s always important to make sure you’re working with a reputable broker and trusted agent but we also understand that for many, the first step in a property journey is exploring online listings.

Unfortunately not every listing is as it seems online, which can cause confusion, disappointment and of course, hours of wasted time. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

Well as always, when there’s a problem - Dubai has a solution and Madmoun, the new system announced today by the Dubai Land Department happens to be just that.

Get ready to wave goodbye to false adverts online - here’s everything you need to know:

So, what is Madmoun?

Madmoun is a new verification service implemented by the Dubai Land Department that allows home hunters to quickly and easily verify the details about a real estate ad or listing.

This includes the property’s condition and specifications, ensuring no faulty or misleading information.

How does it work?

It's quite simple, all verified properties will now require a QR code.

So all you have to do is click on the Trakheesi Number of a listing and if a QR code appears - the listing is verified!

Upon scanning the QR code, you’ll be able to see the agent’s listing permit and the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) permit which tells you it’s verified by the Dubai Land Department.

When can we start using this system?

Madmoun will be implemented across all real estate portals starting April 24th and all real estate companies are expected to include the code on their print and audio-visual advertisements following this date.

Super helpful right?

Marwan bin Ghalita, the CEO of RERA at the Dubai Land Department, said: “The service aligns with DLD's strategy to make Dubai ‘The World leader in Real Estate Investments’ by harnessing technology to develop real estate products according to the directives of the wise leadership. It also supports DLD’s mandate of achieving the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33' which seeks to to generate new economic value from digital transformation and consolidate Dubai's position as a global capital of the digital economy."

We think Dubai is already on its way to achieving all the goals set for D33, what about you?
