Oh May May: Top things to do this month in Dubai!

Although we love the Dubai sunshine, those summer nights (well-a, well-a, well-a, huh!) are fast approaching.

Which means for some of us it’s just a little too hot to be able to enjoy the great outdoors - without melting into a puddle!

Fear not, as throughout May, florals will continue blossoming and just like the season, the city will be blooming too with a host of exciting events.

We’ve rounded up the top events and things to do in Dubai that you could check out this month.

So, let’s get right into it!

Channel your inner Disney princess

Do you believe in magic?

Well Disney’s most iconic princesses are coming to the desert from May 5th to May 7th with a promise to make all your dreams come true!

Head on over to the Dubai Opera for some Disney magic, where Broadway performers will be coming together to put on a spectacular show alongside the Firdaus Orchestra.

Tickets are available from Dhs150.

So, grab your little ones (or your friends!) and head down for a fun-filled night full of sparkle!

Hey you

Ok, if you’re a Pink Floyd fan, this might make you feel a little old but it's been fifty years since the release of ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’!

Can you believe it?

Well get this, Dubai Opera is hosting a tribute act who are set to play all of their top bangers whilst supported by a visual experience of the band themselves. Meaning you can be transported back to the good old days!

The concert is running from May 6th to May 8th with tickets starting from AED 195!

Backstreets back alright!

Speaking of boy-bands coming to town, it's time to ‘Quit Playin Games’ and head on over to Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena on Sunday, May 7th for the ultimate boy-band experience as the Backstreet Boys are in town.

After their last house-full performance in 2018, they’re back in the country for another exciting performance and you can boogie to their top tracks from the 90s such as Shape Of My Heart and I Want it That Way.

Tickets range from AED 245 to AED 845.

Metallica your heart out!

If the Backstreet Boys aren’t really your bag, could Metallica be more up your street?

Head down over to Phileas Foggs as Metallica's official cover band is set to perform a killer set! They’ll be blazing the top-hits on the stage at The Arena on Saturday May 13!

Tickets start from AED 120, with silver tier standing priced at AED 165 and front seat viewing from AED 220 in the Golden Circle!

Definitely one of the best things to do in Dubai in May!

My therapist ghosted me…

The one we’ve been waiting for!

After Joanna McNally finished her sell-out gigs here in Dubai last year, we’ve been counting down the days for her return.

Well if it couldn’t get better, she’s back and this time not alone. The award winning podcast by Vogue Williams and Joanne McNally is coming live to Dubai on Wednesday, May 17th at the Dubai Opera.

Ticket prices start at AED 200 with the show running from 6pm-7pm. We recommend getting your ticket fast as it will without a doubt be a sell out.

One of the best things to do in Dubai this May!

Laugh your heart out with Dara O’Briain

While we’re on the topic of comedians, are you looking for some side-splitting Irish humour?

The king of comedic belts, Dara O’Briain is coming to town as part of Dubai’s Comedy Festival line-up at the Dubai Opera on Monday, May 15th.

If you’re looking for the best thing to do in Dubai? The Comedy Festival is definitely just that! Head down for a night of laughs with tickets starting at AED 200.

A candle light night with Warner Bros

The Warner Bros produced some of the most iconic movie masterpieces of all time, with legendary soundtracks that get everyone singing along.

From Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Batman, Inception to The Wizard of Oz - on Saturday 6th May you can experience it all, in this special event taking place at the Mall of Emirates.

In honour of Warner Bros. Studios 100th anniversary, this one-of a kind candle light tribute will for sure be a night to remember,
